This is a classic book on yoga. Practical and extensively illustrated it describes over 200 postures (asanas and bandhas) and I4 breathing exercises (pranayamas) in detail. The 600 photographs, placed in the relevant part of the text, enable the reader to practise a posture without a teacher. There is a summary of the meaning of Yoga, and the nadis, chakras and kundalini are also considered. An Appendix directs the reader to specific exercises for a wide variety of ailments and for the serious student there is a long yoga course of over 300 weeks. B. K. S.
